Re-Placement

Many times in history the Lord has intervened in critical times and replaced one person for another.
A few examples of this are:
Esau was replaced with Jacob,
King Saul was replaced with King David,
Queen Vashti was replaced with Queen Esther, etc.
In a very real sense, Moses and his covenant of law was replaced with Jesus and his covenant of grace.

With this in mind, this message will look at another replacement during the reign of King Hezekiah. In Isaiah chapter 22, we see a high ranking official named Sheba (a self serving and self honoring man) being replaced by a man named Eliakim (which means “exalted by God).

I believe that we are living in one of those parallel times. This is one of those “for such a time as this” moments in history as was found in Esther. And God himself is now intervening during this critical time.
