Baptism
Over the years I have been a part of conversations (or maybe just listening inđ) that contain a phrase that goes something like this: âI donât want to drink milk. I want the MEAT OF GOD'S WORD.â
This is always in reference to scriptures found in the book of Hebrews that encourage us to go on to maturing in and applying the Word of God in our lives.
As I listen to this type of dialogue I find myself asking the Lord, âIs this person ready for solid food, or would it give him a tummy ache?â
While it is necessary and vital that we go after the deeper truths of scripture, we canât press in if we arenât ready. The question is..... âHow do we know if we are ready for solid food and not just milk?â
The answer is very plainly identified in scripture and no matter how much we want to think that we are ready, sadly most of the time we arenât. And the result is that many folks are not digesting the word properly.

If you have a child and you are trying to ween him off of his motherâs milk and he has problems with processing the more complex food, would you keep giving him the ânutrition" that keeps him sick and throwing up? He will end up malnourished if you donât use wisdom. Sometimes children want mommy and daddyâs food, but we are smart enough and we love them enough to prepare food just for them. Maybe itâs time to do that with spiritual things đ¤đ¤
