The Invitation

We are in a season where the Lord is increasingly making us aware of His desire to reveal Himself.

He is not only presenting Himself in new and different ways, but I have noticed a significant upgrade in the ways that He has always spoken to me.

Let me explain: the Lord has always shown me things in His word in a very distinct and even a timely (as in, at just the right time) manner. In the past, I would respond to a prompting to go to a certain verse of scripture. I would “hear” the verse (usually in King James English which made it easy to discern) and then I would research it. But recently I heard the phrase “Come Away With Me” and even though I didn’t recall any scripture that said that, I knew it was His voice. And with very little effort, as I leaned into it, I heard Song of Solomon chapter 2.

After pondering the text and the context I realized that this was not only a personal Rhema word for me, but was also for The Refuge Church and possibly the Body of Christ at large.

Spoiler Alert!! A lot of men may have trouble receiving this word as it is written metaphorically as being a conversation between a Groom and His Bride. The sticking point that us guys have to push through is: We are the Bride of Christ and we have to get past the weirdness to reveal the glory that is concealed in this portion of scripture. (Proverbs 25:2)
