🎶 It Was For Freedom

The lyrics from an old praise song that we used to sing in the 1980’s and 90’s went like this:

It was for freedom
That Christ has set us free
No longer to be subject to a yoke of slavery
And now we’re rejoicing
In Christ’s victory
Our hearts responding to His love

I continue to be amazed at how Holy Spirit inspires the song writers (psalmist) to write scriptural lyrics and in many cases He is able to speak through the songs better than through the preachers.
I have had conversations with worship leaders who say how frustrating it was to sing these types of songs because it wasn’t what they were actually experiencing in their lives.
In this 4th of July message for 2022, I feel prompted to share the Lord's motive for sending Jesus on this rescue mission.
