The Melchizedek Tithe

3 Reasons The Melchizedek Argument DOES NOT HOLD UP
1) it was completely voluntary (common practice)
2) it was only a One Time Offering
3) it was from the spoils of war

It has been said that “tithing is to the modern church what circumcision was in the Apostle Paul’s day.”
This is true in a very basic and scriptural way.

The obvious problem is then... “So how do we have enough finances and workers to do the work of the ministry.” The short answer is, we trust the gospels (good news) ability to impact the hearts of those that we serve. Please notice that I said “that we serve.” A church should resemble a family gathering where everyone has a part in the celebration. Not a cafeteria setting.

This week we will examine one of the most commonly used points used to justify the mandatory giving of the tithe (or 10%)..... The Melchizedek Tithe. Please prepare your heart to become a Cheerful Giver.
