You Have a Garden
You have a garden! Consider these questions:
1) What is growing there?
2) Is that what you want?
3) What are you willing to do about it?
This week we are going to lay a groundwork for Jesus’ teaching on the sower and the seed found in Mark chapter 4, Matthew chapter 13 and Luke chapter 8. The illustration used is one of soil and seed. In this Kingdom parable, the soil represents the human heart as the “garden” of our lives. Remember, Jesus emphatically stated that it is imperative to first know and understand this lesson in order to understand any further instructions on the kingdom of God.
I think Holy Spirit is leading me to simply but bluntly drive home the fact that like it or not WE ALL HAVE A GARDEN. And we have been and will continue to eat whatever has been planted there. The great news is that even if we aren’t satisfied with what has been growing into our lives, He will help us change it.
